The Pictish people of Scotland were known for their tattoos, visible as they fought on the battlefield and prevented the Roman legions from conquering their lands. We have no mummies, so we cannot know for certain what their tattoos looked like. But it stands to reason that their tattoos would have resembled the enigmatic symbols carved on the standing stones and the patterns on their swords and armor. The designs offered here are historically sourced, to bring the Pictish spirit alive in modern skin.
